In order to deliver high currents in electric melting and heating equipment, such as arcs or ultra high power (UHP) furnaces, water-cooled high-current cables with very large cross-section conductors are required. Druseidt began producing water-cooled high-current cables many years ago. The standard design has a cross section of 6500 mm² and a cable head diameter of 200 mm. If required, a larger size cable can be provided for a particular application. Such high current components must ensure reliable current transfer, and their mechanical and environmental effects do not cause excessive current losses when applied.
