Temperature-resistance, resistance to aggressive media and all-round fire-resistance are some of the characteristics required in production plants in the chemical industry. Hygiene and efficient cleaning play an important role in the manufacture of pharmaceutical products. With Ex-certified cable glands, stainless steel trunking systems and hygienic cable glands, PFLITSCH offers optimum and safe solutions for these areas of application.

In chemical production plants, the risk of explosion is very high. Therefore, only cable glands certified according to ATEX (from the French term atmosphère explosive) may be used in these areas. PFLITSCH's UNI Dicht® system includes Ex cable gland versions in metal and PVDF plastic in sizes M16 to M50 and Pg 7 to Pg 48. The ATEX-certified blueglobe® is available in sizes M10 to M85.

In addition to the explosion-protected types "G" for gas environments, the UNI Dicht® range includes "D"-approved types for use in dusty environments. Both series can be used in areas with explosion protection type Increased safety "e" and pressure-tight encapsulation "d" (zones 22, 21, 2 and 1).

A further important aspect is chemical resistance. The durable PFLITSCH cable glands are therefore resistant to many acids and alkalis.

One of the requirements in the pharmaceutical industry is good cleanability throughout the whole production chain. For these conditions, PFLITSCH offers various cross sections of high-grade wire tray. These open trunking systems are easy to clean. In the blueglobe CLEAN Plus®, PFLITSCH has developed a particularly good hygienic cable gland that has been approved in accordance with the EHEDG standard and fulfils the demanding requirements in this area. This aesthetically appealing and effective cable gland received the iF Design Award for good industrial design.
